750 Club

The 750 club is held annually in the parish. Letters are sent to parishioners with information on obtaining a raffle ticket. Winning numbers are picked at a drawing/beef and beer party held in October. There are also items given away from local merchants at the affair. Contact the office if you can donate a door prize or if you wish to help with this project.

Basketball

The basketball program provides fundamentals and fun to the boys and girls in the first and second grades. It is held Wednesday evenings in January, February and March.

Bingo

Bingo is offered weekly to provide an entertaining way for people to socialize. The revenue is used to offset the subsidy for St. Joseph’s Regional School.

Christmas Tree Sale

Every year the youth group sells more than 600 trees. In addition dozens of trees are donated to the less fortunate and profits from the sale are given to local Catholic charities.

Weekend: 10 AM-8 PM
Monday-Friday: 4 PM-8 PM

Craft Shows

Craft shows are held twice a year as fundraisers for Our Lady of Sorrows. The events take place pre-Thanksgiving and pre Easter. Volunteers are always needed to help with the food sales and to bake.

Easter Egg Hunt

The Easter Egg Hunt is an annual tradition at Our Lady of Sorrows. It is generally held on Easter Sunday following the 9:30 AM Mass. Plastic eggs and candy are donated by parishioners and the date is advertised in the parish bulletin and on our web site.

Holy Thursday Dinner

A covered dish dinner is held after the Holy Thursday 6:00 PM Mass every year as a way for all parishioners to share in the Lenten season and prepare for Easter. The parish provides ham, macaroni and cheese, and Caesar salad. Parishioners supply side dishes and desserts.

Hospitality / Welcoming

The welcoming committee is presently being coordinated by the Ministry of Care. Welcome letters and packages are sent to new parishioners. There are also periodic hospitality evenings for new parishioners to find out about our parish organizations and ministries. The group is always seeking new members and we meet several times during the year.

Knights of Columbus

All Saints Council No. 6277 serves the communities of Northfield and Linwood. . The Knights of Columbus is a Catholic men’s fraternal organization. Social and intellectual fellowship is promoted among members and their families through educational, charitable, religious, social welfare, war relief and public relief works.

Parish Family Picnic

All parish members are invited to attend and bring a dessert to the annual family picnic which is held every September. The parish provides hamburgers, hotdogs, rolls, corn on the cob and baked beans. All are welcome to join in the fun!

Parish Garden

The parish garden is located in an area behind the church. Bricks and memorials may be purchased in the office during regular office hours

Quilting Group

The quilting group meeting weekly in the hall. They donate a quilt every year to the parish which is auctioned off with the proceeds going to purchase altar linens and vestments.

Sanctuary Cleaners

The sanctuary cleaners meet once a month in the church following the 8:30 AM Mass and clean the sanctuary and other needed areas of the church. Volunteers are always welcome and cleaning supplies are provided.

Senior Citizens Christmas Luncheon

This special Christmas luncheon is held to honor all the seniors of the parish. It is generally held during the week of the feast of the Immaculate Conception. Volunteers are always needed to help. Contact the office in November to help.

T-Ball

The t-ball program provides the youth the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of the game and is held on Saturdays in May and June.

Travel Group

The travel group arranges some 1 day trips and at least 1 overnight trip during the course of the year. Interested parishioners can be placed on a mailing list to receive information. In addition, trips are advertised in the weekly parish bulletin and on our web page.
